Can someone help please?
We are private tenants renting via an estate agent. We have lived here for 4 years and knew the house was For sale when we moved in (it has been on the market for 9 years).
Over the 4 years we have had about a dozen viewings, always with the agents escorting the viewings. We have always accommodated the viewings with no complaints and when asked.
However, the last couple of times when they have phoned to book a viewing, they have asked that we 'go out' while they view. This has caused distress in the family. My daughter feels insecure about people going into her room with none of the family in the house, and my elderly partner, had to go for a walk in the rain last time while they showed people around.
I have just had a call today asking if they can show people around next week, and have said I have no problem, then they asked that we make sure the house is empty. My 81 year old partner will be the only person at home, and I do not feel it is fair that he is asked to vacate his home while strangers are shown around.
Can you please advise me?
regards
