How to fill in the Housing Benefit Application Form
It is important that you complete fully your housing benefit application form in order to start receiving housing benefit. Failure to provide the information needed may delay your application and you’re housing benefit payments. This might result in you falling into arrears and being threatened with eviction.
It is very important that the information that you provide is truthful and correct. If you fail to do this, you may need to pay back the benefit money you have received, or in some cases you could be convicted and even face imprisonment.
How to Fill in your Housing Benefit Application Form
It may not look it but the Government have spent a lot of time trying to make the application form as easy to fill in as possible. It may look rather long, but there have to be enough questions to make sure that everyone who claims gets the right amount of benefit.
You may not have to fill in all parts of the form (for example, a few questions would not apply to most pensioners) but you must fill in any part that is relevant to you. Every part starts with a question to help you decide if you need to fill in that part or not.
