You might be thinking of a nice holiday soon. Whether it is to your favourite beach or mountain retreat or even an exotic or long distance holiday to your dream location across the world you might be finding it difficult to find the money and hence a holiday loan might be the answer for you.
With the economic climate the way it is these days we know how difficult finding spare cash to pay for your trip can be.
If your current finances don’t allow you to accommodate a holiday at the moment, what with the rent and all the other bills you have to pay then a quick loan might just help you out. A fixed interest rate loan, maybe over a short term so you know exactly what your repayments will be might just be the answer to your dreams
We know that more and more people are choosing to travel abroad for their holidays as recent research has confirmed this but the government also knows this putting up tax on overseas flights making the whole experience even more expensive than it used to be, so you need to factor in all the costs of your trip when deciding how much you wish to borrow.
Don’t forget or ignore holiday insurance either. It might be an extra cost you think you can do without but if things go “pear-shaped” it will be money well spent.
One of the main reasons we go on a holiday is to chill out and get away from all the trials and stress of life at home and the last thing you want is to add to your worries when you return home because you have spent more than you could realistically afford. So, don’t borrow more than you can really afford to repay – really – it’s not worth it, no matter how great a holiday you’re planning to have.
Holiday Loans Available
There are various types of loans available for people with bad credit, or even loans for unemployed people and even unsecured loans if you prefer, but remember the main criteria is that you can afford the repayments and understand the terms and conditions that will apply.
We suggest looking at several loan companies, seeing what’s available and then doing the math. Many of them can be accessed online and will give instant decisions as soon as you have filled in the online application form. When you find one you like make sure to read the T’s & C’s so that you will not be unduly penalised in the event of problems down the line.
Using Your Credit Card
If you don’t need to much money for your trip it might be worth paying for it on your credit card, however if you only repay the minimum amount every month it can work out more expensive than a fixed rate loan. One of the strategies you could use it to apply for another credit card later and use the Zero Percent Transfer interest rate that you can get when you do a balance transfer, However, with this facility there is usually a 2% to 4% upfront fee which is added to the transfer balance.
We’re not about telling you how to organise your holiday, that’s all part of the fun, as we all know but please remember, although it's great to search out new experiences, always travel safe and be prepared. Always keep your passport, credit cards and travellers' cheques with you or in a safety deposit box back at the hotel.
Make sure you organise your accommodation and travelling arrangements in advance. We also suggest making sure you tell loved ones or workmates about where you are going and what your itinerary is. If something does go wrong people will know where you should be and when.
Also, if you’re renting, check your tenancy agreement as it may well specify that if you leave your home for a lengthy period you must notify your agent or landlord. If you fail to do this and something happens you will be held liable. This is especially important in winter, when you should consider turning off the water supply in case of frozen pipes and subsequent leaks when they thaw out.
As with all our help, we don’t give advice on specific loans and loan companies. You have to decide by checking out what’s on the market, we’re just here to show you that you have options available and should not despair simply because you don’t have enough current funds to go on that holiday you deserve.
Have a great holiday !
