Some letting agents will refuse to give you this information verbally. You are able to use this letter and amend the parts in bold, once completed send it to you're letting agent to request your landlords fully name and address. The letting agent must provide this information to you within 21 days, failing to do so is a criminal offence.

Dear Letting Agent

Following several verbal requests to obtain my landlords full name and address of the property which we rent at rented-property-address which you have failed to provide, I am now formally requesting this information in accordance with Section 1 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.

As I am sure that you are aware, according to the Section 1 of the Landlord and Tenant Acts 1985 I expect that you will provide this information in writing within 21 days, please note it is a criminal offence not to provide this information.

If you fail to provide this information to me within the allow timescale, I will be left with no other choice but to take this up with the Housing Officer of the local authority.

I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,
